Urban Renaissance Group - Lloyd Center’s managing partner and minority share owner - closed Lloyd Center to the public on August 8, 2026, with plans to completely demolish the mall to make way for a future of mixed-use housing, privately managed green space, and other unspecified development.

They have not committed to replacing the ice rink despite promising to do so.

The loss of Lloyd Center is an impact felt widely in our community, and is a missed opportunity for historical continuity and public good.
